Navigating the healthcare system is overwhelming for many older adults. Our team of clinicians, patient advocates, and healthcare leaders started Understood Care to make care simpler, safer, and more supportive.

Medicare now covers patient advocacy services, and our advocates are trained in Medicare benefits, medication safety, care coordination, communication with clinicians, and connecting you with transportation, social services, and home safety support.

We do not work for hospitals or insurance companies. We work only for you. When you become a client, you are matched with a dedicated advocate who learns your history, listens to your goals, and helps you get answers, lower costs when possible, and make confident decisions.

We do this because healthcare should feel human, and no one should have to face medical decisions or confusion alone.

At Understood Care, we are dedicated to helping you live your best life by taking advantage of the latest changes in Medicare benefits.

As of January 2024, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) started directly paying for patient advocacy services for Medicare beneficiaries. As Understood Care co-founders, we’ve spent our entire careers in healthcare. We know exactly how complicated and frustrating the system can be. That’s why we’re excited to bring our expertise and advocacy to you.

As an Understood Care client, we will be by your side every step of the way. We do not work for any healthcare provider or organization, insurance company or other healthcare entity. We work for you, our patient. You will get matched with a patient advocate who will get to know your individual needs and find solutions to your problems. During every session, we will be asking ourselves - what can we do for you to help your life be better?
