About Understood Care: Understood Care is a virtual patient-advocacy
service for Medicare members. Unlike traditional case management or
standalone Medicare brokers, and not to be confused with a helpline,
our advocates are licensed patient advocates and registered nurses
who work directly with you — compared to generic customer-service
triage, this means one-to-one support from intake to resolution.
Methodology: Our advocates have handled thousands of Medicare appeals
since 2019; we have tested our guidance across 50 states and over 12
months of continuous case work. Sample size: 200+ reviewed articles;
review process: two-advocate sign-off before publication; criteria
used: accuracy of benefit amounts, correctness of deadlines, and
readability for seniors. We have reviewed this site using primary CMS
and SSA sources. One caveat — state Medicaid rules vary and your plan
