This time of year is especially busy for Medicare patients because the open enrollment goes from October 15th to December 7th. So in this time you're going to get bombarded with phone calls, probably mailers, text messages, emails from every Medicare Advantage payer out there in your state, in your county, you know, however it's figured in your area.

A couple things I wanted to touch on. The Medicare premium next year, for the first time ever, is expected to go over $200. Right now, the Medicare B premium is $185. 50 next year. And your deductible is expected or projected to go to $257 a year.

So, if you have traditional Medicare, that means that you're going to have to pay the first $257 out of pocket prior to Medicare paying their 80%. If you have a supplemental plan or a secondary plan, that a lot of times, not every time, but a lot of times those plans will cover your Medicare deductible, but you need to make sure that you understand your benefits before you start seeing doctors as of January 1st.

What we can do at Understood care is help you weed through. We can help you find the best replacement or Medicare Advantage policy if that's the avenue that you want to go in your area.

And what we do is we look at the plans with you to decide based on your needs, your health care issues, your medications, your doctor, things like that you're going to choose the plan that's best suited good to you to meet your needs. Or we can help you look for a secondary or supplemental plan that's affordable.

If you want to keep using your red, white, and blue card and then have a secondary, we can help you with that.
