Being diabetic, you are eligible for diabetic shoes and inserts. These are a covered service under Medicare, but how we can help is we can check your benefits, seeing what's covered.

So typically every calendar year, Medicare will cover one pair of shoes and three pairs of inserts. So what these shoes are designed to do is they're made a little bit what we call extra depth. The reason behind that is to accommodate the insert, your foot, and any like socks or stockings.

So that way your foot is fitting properly in the shoe and not rubbing, and you're not going to get a callus or a blister from wearing ill-fitting shoes. So again, how our advocates can help with this, making sure that your podiatry office does this, if not getting you with an in-network company that does.
