Hi everyone, it's Amanda at Understood Care. Just wanted to hop on, we've been getting some questions about home care and how this works with Medicare and coverage.

So typically home care, like your home health care, that can be a skilled nurse that comes out if you need dressing changes, help with your medications, understanding them, get everything situated, physical therapy, occupational therapy, you would need to get an order from your primary care doctor, and then that would go to whichever home health care agency that home health care company will bill through Medicare. It is a covered service under Medicare, but there are a few stipulations, which I know it can be tricky.

Most of your home care agencies have what is considered homebound status. So this is you are primarily at home waiting, you know, for the nurse to come and then leaving. Your exceptions are doctor's appointments, if your ladies get your hair done, and you know, good grocery store type things, and then you can get those home services covered through Medicare.
