- Hi everybody, it's Amanda over at Understood Care. I just wanted to hop on. We've gotten some questions regarding preventative care. I am a big supporter of preventative medicine, that being your Medicare annual wellness exams, mammograms, bone density scans, prostate screenings, colonoscopies, your yearly chest x-rays or CAT scans, if you have any lung issues, those sort of things.
And you're probably asking how we can help with that if your doctor orders it. So typically you go to see your doctor, they order these for you, they send them off. You don't hear anything from anybody. Our advocates can be there to help contact your doctor that ordered it, most likely your primary care, sometimes your specialist.
Either way, we can contact that doctor, see where the order was sent. If you need authorization, we can contact the facility to make sure that they actually got the order because we all know, love faxes doesn't always get there.
So we can be that person so you're not sitting on the phone constantly or trying to actually get through to somebody to talk to them. We can go ahead and call on your behalf, make sure they have it, see when their first available appointment is. We can always do a conference call with you as well, so you're on the line with us.
And that way you're hearing it as we are. If we have you on the phone, we can go ahead and get you scheduled. And that way you're getting all the screenings that you need to make sure that you're safe and healthy.
