Hi everyone, it's Amanda at Understood Care. Just wanted to hop on. We've got a few questions from some of our patients about hospice and how that works.

So you have a couple options. There's palliative care, which is kind of like a step below hospice. Normally, you get a doctor or a nurse practitioner. They come out to see you one to two times a month.

If you're having issues with your breathing, your heart, they'll make that decision and come out to see you. If you need a nurse, you'll also be able to get a home health care nurse. Both of these get billed through Medicare and then your secondary insurance if you have one.

And if you need to at that time, help you transition into hospice, which is a little bit more in depth. I know that sounds really scary, but nowadays hospice, the services that they provide as far as getting a doctor, they're basically 24/7.

So if something happens, they're there. I personally have dealt with many hospice agencies, the services they provide, not only to the patient, but to the families. It's amazing. These groups of people are fantastic. And if you have any other questions regarding this or feel you may need their services, we will be more than happy to walk you through the process.
